Believe it or not, the end of the year is right around the corner! Due dates come along with that, so get ready! We will be working on finishing up Esperanza Rising (ER), a final novel project, and narratives. The following are the due dates that will be occurring throughout the month of May:

May 2: ER Las Ciruelas word work and reader response questions due

May 4: ER Las Papas work work and reader response questions due

May 6: ER Los Aguacates work work and reader response questions due

May 9: ER Los Esparragos word work and reader response questions due

May 11: ER Los Duraznos word work and reader response questions due

May 13: ER Las Uvas work work and reader response questions due

May 16: Entire Esperanza Rising packet (EVERYTHING completed), due

May 27: Esperanza Rising novel project due

May 30: Final narrative due

Students WILL be getting time to work on these things during class. However, it is up to them whether or not they use their time wisely. Regardless, they will probably need to be working on these assignments at home as well and they will need to take the initiative and responsibility to do that. Please encourage them as you see them working on these things (But do not do it for them!). The students are very capable and I’m sure that in the end all of their hard work will turn out wonderfully!
