Homework support

Hello families,
As a reminder, homework is required. We are finding that many students are not completing and/or submitting their required homework. Please remember that homework is posted daily on the sixth grade blog.  It is also posted on Remind.com. If you forget how to get connected to Remind.com to get daily emails or texts of the homework, please contact your homeroom teacher for details. Students are also to write the homework in their agendas each day. While we are encouraging students to become independent and responsible for their own homework, we need you to support them by asking to see their completed work.
Thank you!!

Anti Bully Month

This month is anti-bullying month. Every day you have a choice. Choose kindness. If you see others bullying or being bullied, speak up! Together we can change our community.

Bullying Prevention Month

October is Bullying Prevention Month and we are taking that very seriously here at YARCS. We took a chunk of time today to discuss bullying, respect, and disrespect. Our students are the oldest in the school, and we’re encouraging them to take that responsibility to heart and demonstrate to us, you, and the rest of the school what great role models they can be! We are encouraging them to think about their choices, actions, and words as they continue through this year.

Studying nouns!

Reminder that next Tuesday (10/6) is the retake for the nouns quiz! The students have been instructed to take home their Grammar Handbook and Language Arts notebook to study this weekend. I have also given them a practice test they can work on to help them study. The practice test isn’t graded, and it won’t be collected — it’s just to give them practice with noun skills! Please help your student(s) as they study for nouns this weekend. I’m expecting the retake to go really well! Have a good weekend :-).

School Food Drive!

Help us try and help people in need. You can bring anything that is canned or boxed. You may not bring fruits and vegetables are not canned. You can bring them if they are canned or boxed. They can be handed in at any of the first grade classrooms. Don’t take too long though it’s only October 1-8.  Thank you supporting  your school food drive.
