T-shirts needed! Artist in Residence

For those of you who haven’t heard, we have a wonderful opportunity in sixth grade by having an Artist in Residence visit our class two times per week.  Jude has the students working on a VERY cool weaving project that will hang in our school.  The weaving will be made out of t-shirts.

As you can imagine, we are in need of OLD, USED, COLORFUL t-shirts!  If you have ANY t-shirts that you would be willing to donate to our weaving we would gladly accept them.  They will be cut into ribbons, so don’t expect to get them back.  The good news is that you will still get to enjoy them in their NEW form!

Thank you, in advance, for all of your old t-shirts!

Math Test Wednesday

Hello all,

Just a quick reminder that we will be having our Unit 1 Final Math Assessment on Wednesday, September 30.  Students brought their Interactive Student Notebooks home (on Friday) so that they could use them to study.  The topics on the test will include prime numbers, composite numbers, factors, multiples, prime factorization, GCF, LCM, Order of Operations and Distributive Property.  We will be doing lots of review on Monday and Tuesday in class as well.

Please encourage them to work on some practice problems at home.  I am looking forward to seeing all that they have learned during this first unit!
